World COPD Day 2025

Published on: November 20, 2025

The COPD Community Connectors, Therapy for You, and the Breathlessness Psychology Team came together at The Victoria Plaza Centre to raise vital awareness about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and to empower local people with information and support.

Visitors to The Victoria Plaza Centre were able to meet clinicians, psychological practitioners, and trained Community Connectors to discuss:

  • Where to access local support services
  • How lifestyle and emotional wellbeing support can help manage COPD symptoms

The event placed a strong emphasis on bringing accessible, practical help directly into the community.

“Raising awareness about COPD and breathlessness is essential. Many people don’t realise that support is available locally—both for physical symptoms and the psychological impact of living with a long-term condition.”

The participating teams also highlighted the importance of seeking help early and encouraged those experiencing persistent breathlessness to speak with healthcare professionals.
