Beauleigh Court Raise £200 for Folk Like Us
Published on: June 24, 2026
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Beauleigh Court Care Home for raising funds for our Folk Like Us Project! Residents, staff, families, and members of the local community came together at Beauleigh Court Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, on 17 June 2026 for a successful charity fundraiser in support of Folk Like Us, raising a total of £200 for the local organisation.
Folk Like Us is a free service that provides support, advice, and companionship to people aged 55 and over living in Southend who may be experiencing loneliness and social isolation. The charity plays a vital role in helping older adults maintain their wellbeing, independence, and connection to the community.
To raise funds, Beauleigh Court hosted a raffle featuring a range of exciting prizes, alongside a popular bake sale led by team member Sally, who generously baked all of the cakes herself. The event was a wonderful opportunity for residents, families, staff, and visitors to come together, enjoy the festivities, and support an important local cause.
The team were also delighted to welcome representatives from SAVS, whose attendance helped make the day even more special. The fundraiser not only generated valuable funds for Folk Like Us but also helped raise awareness of the support available to older people within the local community.
Many older adults face challenges associated with loneliness and isolation, and services such as Folk Like Us provide invaluable guidance, friendship, and support. By supporting the charity, Beauleigh Court hopes to encourage greater awareness of these services and help connect those who may benefit from them.
Sally, Domestic Assistant at Beauleigh Court, said:
“I feel that the event went extremely well. We sold out very quickly and received lots of compliments throughout the day. Five people even said it was the best cake they had ever tasted! It was wonderful to be part of something that makes a real difference in the community, and I was very happy to contribute and help support such an important cause.”
Abby added:
“It was a great afternoon, with smiles all round, and overall, it was a huge success. There was a real sense of community spirit throughout the event, with residents, families, staff, and visitors coming together to support a worthwhile cause. We hope to host more fundraising events in the future and continue making a positive difference within our local community.”
