Celebrating Year One of the Parent Voice Pilot Project!
Published on: June 25, 2026
Reflecting on the first full year of our Parent Voice Pilot Project highlights the true power of community. Our Parent Voice Advisor (PVA) meet-ups—both online and at The Hangout—have grown into a vital, nurturing space for local families.
This project delivers a dual impact:
- Shaping the Future: Driving positive change for our children and future parents accessing services.
- Nurturing Volunteers: Providing a supportive environment where parents can connect, share, and recharge.
Why Community Matters for Parental Mental Health
Becoming a parent often means putting yourself last, which can lead to losing your hobbies and your old sense of connection.
A quote from a recent Mental Health Foundation article perfectly captures why our PVA group matters:
“Reclaiming that sense of a community since joining the parent group has brought back that feeling of belonging that I had been missing since being a parent… Being with other parents in our group has made me realise how much I was missing being part of something and how it’s so beneficial to my mental health.”
Thank You to Our Volunteers!
Taking the step to volunteer is a powerful act of self-care. It strengthens your own wellbeing while building a brighter, more connected future for your children. We are incredibly proud of every single volunteer on this journey with us.
