Nominations close soon for Havens Hospices’ Making Every Day Count Award
Published on: September 10, 2026
Havens Hospices is calling on the people it has cared for, their families and customers of their shops, to nominate a colleague or volunteer for this year’s Making Every Day Count Award before nominations close at 5pm on Monday 21 September 2026.
The award is one of the categories of the charity’s 2026 Star & Bright Idea Awards, sponsored by c2c. Awarded to a colleague or volunteer who has provided exceptional service in Havens Hospices’ 27 charity shops or outstanding support to people cared for by the charity, and their families, during 2025, it’s a chance to recognise the difference they make in the local community.
Last year, Christine Harris, Supportive Therapies Lead, won the Making Every Day Count Award for her kindness and gentle support in helping a patient reconnect with his love of music.
Liz Stannard, the organiser of the awards for Havens Hospices, says, “Did a colleague or team go above and beyond to create treasured memories? If so, we would love to hear from you! This is a great opportunity for the people and families we care for to show their appreciation for our amazing colleagues and volunteers, giving them the chance to shine.”
Havens Hospices provides expert, compassionate care to people of all ages living with incurable conditions across Essex, in the community, in people’s homes, and at Fair Havens and Little Havens.
Nominations for the Making Every Day Count Award close at 5pm on Monday 21 September 2026. Nominate today at www.havenshospices.org.uk/medc.
