Think CO Newsletter – Autumn 2026

Published on: September 16, 2026

The Autumn 2026 Think CO newsletter from the Gas Safe Charity focuses on Gas Safety Week (14–20 September) and the importance of protecting people from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. This year’s theme is “Take No Chances”, encouraging people to have gas appliances checked annually by a Gas Safe registered engineer, install a suitable BS EN 50291 CO alarm, keep ventilation clear, and check the ID of engineers entering their home.

The newsletter also highlights:

  • Concern that the cost-of-living crisis may be leading people to delay appliance servicing or use alternative heating methods, alongside a rise in suspected or confirmed CO incidents reported by London Fire Brigade.
  • A Think CO Support Guide containing 33 sources of possible financial help and support.
  • A new 10-question Think CO quiz to help staff and volunteers test their knowledge.
  • Free online workshops, accredited e-learning and face-to-face training for organisations.
  • CO and gas safety information available in 15 community languages, plus awareness videos in Hindi, Bangla, British Sign Language and English.
  • Interesting CO facts, including its risks in light aircraft and its controlled use by professional cycling teams to measure haemoglobin and blood volume.
